Surgery goal: Funding Qiang's surgeries

Qiang

We are currently aiming to raise the remaining $1500 needed to fund Qiang's surgery expenses to de-thether his spinal cord. He underwent spina bifida surgery in his hometown province but it left a lump. Thus, Qiang is now in need of a surgery to free the spinal cord and prevent further damage to the area. This boy needs assistance so he is no longer in pain. More information here.

Donor Report - Chen

Chen

Chen was born with spina bifida, a birth defect in which the spinal cord does not develop completely. In some spina bifida cases, like Chen's, the membranes that protect the spinal cord push through the opening left by the incomplete spinal cord and form a sac. Chen was at risk for an infection and other health problems brought on by the birth defect.

This little girl underwent surgery to heal her spina bifida condition. A lovely girl with bright and expressive eyes, the nannies thought Chen could understand when they spoke to her! A patient girl, Chen would wait quietly when it was time to drink milk. For now, Chen has left the China Care Home and will be due back in a few months to see if she needs another surgery to treat her hydrocephalus. For now, this beloved baby girl is well on her way to a better life!
